Accreditation and Certification: Do They Improve Hospital Financial and Quality Performance?

The relationship between healthcare organizational accreditation and their leaders’ professional certification in management is of specific interest to institutions higher education individuals the field. Since academic program one piece evidence high-quality education, since an attestation knowledge, skills, abilities those who are certified, we expect alumni graduated from accredited programs obtained have a positive impact on organizations that they lead, compared with did not graduate obtain certification. authors’ analysis examined hiring graduates held external Commission Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Graduates’ affiliation American College Executives (ACHE) leadership organization was also assessed as independent variable. Study outcomes focused these graduates’ respective organization’s performance measures (cost, quality, access) assess researchers’ inquiry into perceived value CAHME-accredited degree administration ACHE affiliation. results this study found no effect CAHME or outcomes. findings support need for future research surrounding characteristics leader development affiliations, by various industry stakeholders.
